Emergencies Out of Hours
The Queen Mother Hospital for Animals
The Queen Mother Hospital for Animals at The Royal Veterinary College provides a dedicated emergency service when our practice is closed – eg at night, weekends and on Bank Holidays.
If your pet needs this service ‘Out Of Hours’, it is recommended that you phone The Queen Mother Hospital (QMH) first, so the vets and nursing staff are ready for your arrival.
Please note that The Queen Mother Hospital for Animals is only available for advice and emergency treatment “out of hours”.
Payment is required at the time of your pet’s discharge, direct to the QMH. An estimate will be given for costs of the consultation and further treatment, if necessary.
Take your pet insurance documentation including a claims form with you.
We will receive a faxed report about your pets condition and treatment, the next working day following your emergency visit.
If you require transport for your pet to the QMH, please phone:
These are private companies and are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They will charge you separately and will require payment at the time.
